Welcome to JURE 2008!

The theme for JURE 2008 is Innovative and Creative Perspectives: New Directions in Educational Research. JURE 2008 will be held in the beautiful and vibrant city of Leuven in Belgium from the 8th to 11th of July. The conference presents a great opportunity for junior research to discuss and receive feedback on their research and get involved with other researchers in the same area.

New! Visit a Belgian brewery!

Belgium is the country of beers. Especially Leuven is well-known for its tasty Stella Artois, which is brewed at InBev in Leuven. We booked an English guide that will take you along behind the scenes of the brewery InBev. The tour is planned at the end of the conference, Friday July 11th at 16:00. You can register for free on Tuesday (July 8th) at the Help Desk. Be aware that registration places are limited.

Update! Internet access

During the conference you can have Internet access in the pre-booked pc-rooms (45 pc’s). Also you can use your own Eduroam-account to have a wireless connection at the conference venue with your laptop. More information about a Eduroam account can be found on: http://www.eduroam.org/.

Eduroam should be accessible for all European scholars (providing that their own institution is part of the Eduroam-network). Often, but not always, the Eduroam-account uses the same credentials (username and password) the user would use if he were at his home institution. We advise you, however, to check this before travelling to Leuven. To establish an Eduroam connection, your authentication information should be validated by a server certificate. Therefore, you will have to enter a server-address in the wireless network connection properties of your laptop. This server-address is institution-specific. You will have to contact or browse the web pages of your own ICT-services to find this server-address. We cannot help you with this at K.U.Leuven! If you want to use Eduroam during the conference, make sure that you have all this login information with you when travelling to Leuven.
